Going back to work…
6 01 2009I thought it might be a good idea to look back on what we have accomplished this fall. First we finished the outside stucco work with a finish coat of lime putty and sand and had topsoil delivered which we raked, rolled and seeded.
We started the inside stucco work spraying the slip on the inside of the bale walls.
We installed the new woodstove, a Scan 5-2, which works excellent although the small firebox (14″x14″) means a lot of wood we already cut was too big too fit in the stove.
We bought and installed the range hood and framed the drop ceiling in the kitchen and had everything wired up.
We built a shed for storage this winter and the grass on our new lawn started to sprout with a very warm November this year.
Discovery and infill coats followed the slip inside and as of now we have just a couple days of infill coat left to do.
Interior finish coat will follow after we are done with infill, hopefully I will get most of upstairs done before having to go to work but we will not be able to finish for the Holidays. I suspect a couple more months of evenings and weekends will be needed to finish up the finish work (seamfilling, painting, trim, floor finishing and tile work.)
So we may have failed yet another deadline we set for ourselves, but I feel good about the amount of work we have accomplished and quality of that work. So what is the next deadline? I am unwilling to say when I think we will be done, but I suspect we are in the home stretch!
